'The Big Knife' has got a new poster, and it looks oh so familiar!

Some artwork has arrived for the upcoming revival of Clifford Odets’ The Big Knife, and it’s got us thinking about just one thing: Mad Men! The opening credits of the AMC drama feature a similar falling man (stylishly reminiscent of designer Saul Bass) whose plummet is just so dramatic. Both shows follow suited men in freefall—The Big Knife focusing on well-dressed Hollywood execs in the ‘40s, and Mad Men revolving around well-dressed ad execs in the ‘60s. Huge difference, right? But while Mad Men’s lissome falling fella drops through a metropolitan purgatory, The Big Knife’s gravity-obeying gent plunges headfirst down a film strip. Similar or not, you've got to admit that the matching imagery makes for one excellent joke set-up. So this guy falls off a building...
