The 58th annual Village Voice Obie Awards will be presented on May 20 at a ceremony to be held at Webster Hall. The event, which honors outstanding achievement in off-Broadway and off-off Broadway, is being chaired by Michael Feingold, chief theater critic for the Voice.
Unlike most awards, the Obies are not chosen from a list of nominees or presented in rigid categories. Winners are chosen by a panel of judges, which this year consists of Feingold, Voice critic Alexis Soloski, playwright Erin Courtney, producer Mia Katigbak, Theater magazine editor Tom Sellar and director Leigh Silverman.
A host and presenters for the Obie Awards have not yet been announced.
