There was love in the air when Classic Stage Company's revival of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Passion officially opened on February 28 at the off-Broadway theater. Directed by Tony winner John Doyle, the romantic musical is the story of Giorgio (Ryan Silverman) and Clara (Melissa Errico), who are deeply in love, but when Giorgio is transferred, he meets Fosca (Judy Kuhn), the ill cousin of his commanding officer, and soon becomes the object of her obsessive, relentless love. The original Broadway production, directed by Lapine, won four Tony Awards, including Best Musical. After the moving and intimate opening night performance, Silverman, Errico and Kuhn celebrated at a star-studded soiree at Pangea. Click below for a front-row seat to the celebration, then catch Passion through April 7!
