Weekend Poll Top Three: Fans Want to See RuPaul’s Drag Race Live on Broadway
Theatergoers hope to see 'RuPaul's Drag Race' adapted into a wacky musical.

Love it or hate it, composers have started looking to reality TV shows for musical inspiration. The X Factor—It’s Time to Face the Music, a new musical that features infamous judge Simon Cowell as a character, will begin performances at the London Palladium next spring, and Anna Nicole, an opera based on the life of reality star Anna Nicole Smith is heading to the BAM Next Wave Festival. So we asked: Which reality TV show would make a wacky Broadway musical? Check out the results below!

1. RuPaul’s Drag Race - 33%
And the winner is…RuPaul’s Drag Race by a landslide! Fans of the campy and fabulous drag competition show want to see Ru and their favorite competitors singing, dancing and lip-syncing for their lives on the Broadway stage. Featuring fierce performances by Sharon Needles and Pandora Box, Drag Race on Broadway would be a glitter-filled extravaganza not to be missed. Our casting choice for RuPaul? Priscilla alum and Hit the Wall star Nathan Lee Graham!

2. Dance Moms - 13%
Abby Lee Miller and her talented pint-sized dance crew on Broadway? Sign us up! The young dancers have already trained with Broadway alum (and current Flashdance national tour star!) Rachelle Rak, so we've already seen that they have what it takes for the Great White Way. But if they're too busy with dance competitions to make their Broadway debuts, the young casts of Annie and Matilda could definitely team up to portray the girls!

3. Toddlers & Tiaras - 7%
OK, we admit it, watching Toddlers & Tiaras is an irresistible guilty pleasure, and it would be hilarious to see MaKenzie, Isabella, and of course Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson strut their stuff on the Broadway stage. Come on, you know you’d wait at the stage door for Eden Wood’s autograph.
