Christian Borle has signed on to Michael Mann's upcoming cyber crime movie.

Tony winner and Broadway.com Audience Choice Award winner Christian Borle will go from Smash to cyberspace, as the actor has just landed a role in writer-director Michael Mann’s upcoming cyber crime thriller, reports Deadline.

Plot details on the film (tentatively titled Cyber) are mum, but the movie’s IMDb page suggests that the story follows American and Chinese forces collaborating on a case of high-level hacking. Borle joins previously announced stars Chris Hemsworth, Viola Davis and Holt McCallany in the latest entry from Mann, whose impressive film resume include Heat, The Insider, Public Enemies and The Last of the Mohicans.

This is Borle’s first major motion picture role, following his part as a caddy in the 2010 rom-com The Bounty Hunter. Fresh off a run on NBC’s Smash, Borle is known to stage fans for his Broadway turns in shows like Peter and the Starcatcher (Tony Award), Legally Blonde, Mary Poppins, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Spamalot.
