Tickets are now on sale for the posthumous world premiere of Horton Foote’s drama The Old Friends, starring Betty Buckley, Lois Smith and the playwright's daughter Hallie Foote. Directed by Michael Wilson, The Old Friends will begin performances on August 20 at off-Broadway’s Irene Diamond Stage at the Pershing Square Signature Center. Opening night is set for September 12, and the Signature Theatre Company production is scheduled to play a limited engagement through September 29.

Foote’s drama follows matriarch Mamie Borden and the members of two Texas farming families awaiting a visit from Mamie’s son Hugo and his wife Sybil. When Sybil arrives with alarming news, old friends on opposing sides must confront the issues surrounding legacy, loyalty and the meaning of happiness that have hounded them for generations. In addition to Buckley, Smith and Foote, The Old Friends stars Veanne Cox, Adam LeFevre, Sean Lyons, Novella Nelson, Melle Powers and Cotter Smith.

The Old Friends features scenic design by Jeff Cowie, costume design by David C. Woolard, lighting design by Rui Rita, sound design by John Gromada, wig and hair design by Paul Huntley, fight direction by Mark Olsen and dialect coaching by Gillian Lane-Plesica.
