Jeff Blumenkrantz & Brett Ryback in ‘Murder for Two'
'Murder for Two' is headed for New World Stages.

If you missed the new musical Murder For Two during its sold-out summer run at Second Stage Uptown, there’s good news: The show will transfer to New World Stages for a 10-week off-Broadway engagement. Scott Schwartz’s production, starring Jeff Blumenkrantz and Brett Ryback, will begin previews on October 23, with opening night set for November 6 and closing on January 5, 2014.

Murder For Two features a book and music by Joe Kinosian and book and lyrics by Kellan Blair. In this hilarious musical murder mystery, Ryback investigates a crime and Blumenkrantz plays all 13 of the suspects. And they both play piano!

The Second Stage Uptown production of Murder For Two began previews at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre on July 10 and opened on July 25 to rave reviews. The run was extended twice, closing on August 25.

The creative team for Murder For Two includes set designer Beowulf Boritt, costume designer Andrea Laurer, lighting designer Jason Lyons and sound designer Jill BC DuBoff. The off-Broadway transfer will be produced by Jayson Raitt, Barbara Whitman, Steven Chaikelson and Second Stage Theatre.
