'The Vaudevillians' announces final extension off-Broadway.

No one night stand for this diva! Originally intended to last for a single performance, The Vaudevillians has extended at off-Broadway’s Laurie Beechman Theater for the sixth and final time. RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon’s raucous off-Broadway musical will now run through November 19.

The Vaudevillians follows 1920s burlesque performers Kitty Witless (Monsoon) and Dr. Dan Von Dandy (the show’s composer Richard Andriessen), who toured speakeasies throughout the country until a tragic avalanche in Antarctica froze them alive. After being thawed by global warming, the two vow to reclaim their music after they discover that pop artists of various decades have stolen their songs and passed them off as their own, including “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and “Drop It Like It’s Hot.”

Before becoming part of the hottest act ever frozen alive, Monsoon began his career as Jerick hoffer, a theater performer who danced lead in the world’s largest drag queen chorus line. Around the country, Monsoon has torn up the stage in Spring AwakeningRent and Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
