Get ready, Yankee fans: Eric Simonson’s Bronx Bombers, a new play centering on Yogi Berra and other famous members of the iconic baseball team, is headed to Broadway, and we’ve got your first look at Mark Ulriksen’s original artwork for the production. Ulriksen, a frequent contributor to The New Yorker, created a colorful hand-painted illustration centering on Berra and his wife, Carmen (to be played by real-life spouses Peter Scolari and Tracy Shayne), surrounded by celebrated team members from various eras. The play begins previews on January 10, 2014, at Circle in the Square Theater, with opening night on February 6, directed by the playwright.
