Joe Carroll knows all the words to 'Call Me Maybe!'

Hometown: Grand Rapids, MI 

Current Role: The charming Prince Topher in Cinderella, who falls for glass slipper-wearing Ella, played by pop princess Carly Rae Jepsen beginning February 4. 

Stage Cred: In the ensemble of Once; Balthasar in Romeo and Juliet and covering Orlando Bloom in the role of Romeo.

"There are videos of me in diapers playing the drums. I picked up piano in middle school, then picked up guitar...Now I can play 11 instruments total."

"I moved to NYC after graduation in August 2012, the week of my first audition for Once. I had $15 in my bank account and was gonna start catering the next Monday. On Friday, I got a call to join the cast. It was absolutely incredible."

"The first time I heard 'Call Me Maybe' was at a house party in college. They’d turn it on at the frat house and the whole place would go nuts. I’m the first to admit I know all the words."

"I play softball with Derek Klena and Aaron Tveit—but there’s no Broadway Hockey League. I’d love to gather up the troops and form one but I don’t think there’s a producer in New York who would get on board with that."

"The first song I ever sang at a voice lesson, ever, was 'Do I Love You Because You’re Beautiful?' [from Cinderella] at age 12. So getting to sing it on the Broadway stage with a gigantic pop star? It’s unbelievable."
