Tony nominee Patrick Wilson is set to team up with fellow Great White Way alum Paul Rudd (Grace, Three Days of Rain) in Marvel’s Ant-Man. According to The Wrap, Edgar Wright will direct the superhero movie this spring with a script he penned with Joe Cornish.
Ant-Man follows the story of Hank Pym, a biochemist who discovers subatomic particles that allow him to shrink to insect size (and later, grow, into Giant-Man), as well as control ants. Many years later, Scott Lang, a reformed thief and electronics expert uses Pym’s techniques to inhabit the superhero character. Michael Douglas, Michael Pena and Evangeline Lilly are all also apparently eyeing roles in the film.
Wilson will be seen April 3 in a one-night-only concert of Guys and Dolls at Carnegie Hall with Nathan Lane, Sierra Boggess and Megan Mullally. He was nominated for a Tony for his performances in Oklahoma! and The Full Monty. Other Broadway credits include All My Sons and Barefoot in the Park. His film and TV credits include The Conjuring, Insidious, Watchmen and A Gifted Man.
