Two Theatre503 productions are set to transfer to the West End’s Trafalgar Studios 2. Boyzone star Keith Duffy (Coronation Street) will make his West End Debut reprising his role in the revival of Billy Roche’s A Handful of Stars from June 25 through July 25. Chris Urch’s Land of Our Fathers will also play the venue September 2 through October 4.
In addition to Duffy, A Handful of Stars’ cast will include Ciarán Owens (Oh What a Lovely War) and Michael O’Hagan (End of Days). First performed in 1988, the play is set in the Irish town of Wexford where Jimmy Brady rails against the moral corruption around him.
Land of our Fathers is set on the eve of the U.K.’s 1979 General Election and depicts the dramatic two weeks of a community of Welsh miners trapped down a collapsed coalmine. Clive Merrison (The History Boys, The English Patient), will return from the 2014 production, along with Kyle Rees (The Pride), Taylor Jay-Davies (Great Expectations) and Joshua Price.
The creative team will be the same on both shows, which will be helmed by Paul Robinson, the Artistic Director of Theatre503. Design is by Signe Beckman, lighting is by Hartley T A Kemp’s and original music is by Simon Slater.
