The holiday weekend brought in a considerable bump for nearly every show on the Great White Way. Every production but one saw an increase in gross from the previous week. It's Only a Play, the one show left out (surely due to its starry opening night on October 9), had no reason to complain as it still grossed over $1 million and exceeded capacity. The Mouse came up on top once more as The Lion King grossed over $2 million and Aladdin set another box office record at the New Amsterdam. Meanwhile, Hedwig and the Angry Inch headliner Andrew Rannells put his wig back on the shelf following his final performance on October 12, but not before bringing in crowds at 93.3% capacity—the highest of his run at the Belasco Theatre. We will keep an eye on the tuner's numbers as Michael C. Hall steps in beginning October 16.
