The Writers Guild of America has announced the nominees for the 2015 Writers Guild Awards categories for TV, new media, news, radio and promotional media, and there is some Broadway representation in the mix! The winners will be announced on February 14, 2015 simultaneously in New York and Los Angeles.
The 68th Annual Tony Awards picked up a nomination in the Comedy/Variety—Music, Awards, Tributes—Specials category. The 2014 ceremony, hosted by Hugh Jackman, was penned by Dave Boone and featured special material by Jon Macks. Additionally, the HBO adaptation of The Normal Heart received a nod for Long Form Adapted. The film featured a screenplay by Larry Kramer, adapted from his 1985 play of the same name.
Among the additional nominees are several TV series featuring a slew of Broadway stars, including Orange is the New Black, The Good Wife, Mad Men, Transparent, The Leftovers and Modern Family. Check out the full list of nominees from the WGA.
