We're positively gleeful at this news! Stage and screen star Gina Gershon will play Broadway alum Darren Criss’ Mom in the final season of Glee. According to The Wrap, Gershon has been tapped to take on the role of Pam Anderson, although apparently no red swimsuits will be involved. The Fox TV show returns to the small screen on January 16—is your DVR set in anticipation?
Off-Broadway's The Flick Sets Cast & Dates
It's been confirmed that Alex Hanna, Louisa Krause, Matthew Maher and Aaron Clifton Moten will reprise their performances in the previously reported return of The Flick off-Broadway. Annie Baker’s 2014 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, which will once again be directed by Sam Gold, is set to begin previews on May 7 and officially open at the Barrow Street Theatre on May 28.
Anne Hathaway Gives NPH Oscar Hosting Tips
Les Miz Oscar winner Anne Hathaway, who had a less than acclaimed stint emceeing the Academy Awards in 2011, made us giggle today with her advice to 2015 host Neil Patrick Harris. “Do the opposite of what I did, and you’ll be fine,” she told The New York Times. We can’t wait until February 22 to see what Tony winner Harris has in store for us!
Jackie Hoffman & Lypsinka Team Up
Forget everything you know about happily ever after. On the Town’s Jackie Hoffman and Lypsinka (AKA John Epperson) have been tapped for the revival of Once Upon a Mattress. Hoffman will play Princess Winnifred and Lypsinka, Queen Aggravain, in the comic retelling of the classic The Princess and the Pea for the Transport Group. Directed by Jack Cummings III, the new production will play a limited engagement November 29 through January 3, 2016 at the Abrons Arts Center.
