After an acclaimed run at London’s buzzy Young Vic, Golem will transfer to the West End. Directed and written by Suzanne Andrade, the satirical take on our misuse of technology will play a limited engagement at the Trafalgar Studios April 14 through May 22. Opening night is set for April 22.
The cast will include Will Close, Charlotte Dubery, Lillian Henley, Rose Robinson and Shamira Turner.
Mixing live performance and music with film and animation, Golem follows the life of extraordinarily ordinary Robert Robertson, whose life is irrevocably disrupted when he buys a golem—a creature who will improve the efficiency of his daily affairs. But when Robert upgrades to superior model Golem 2, the show questions what happens when man is no longer in control of machine.
The production will feature film, animation and design by Paul Barritt, with music by Lillian Henley and associate direction and design by Esme Appleton.
