The Royal Court Theatre production of Constellations will play the West End’s Trafalagar Studios beginning on July 9. The production, directed by Michael Longhurst, is currently on tour in the U.K. and stars Joe Armstrong and Louise Brealey. The Nick Payne play will run through August 1.
Constellations tells the story of one relationship with infinite possibilities. It explores the boundless potential of a first encounter, free will and friendship. The play opened at the Royal Court’s Jerwood Theatre Upstairs in 2012 before transferring to the Duke of York’s Theatre in the West End.
Armstrong's previous stage credits include the Royal Court's The Empire, as well as Orphans, A Night at the Dogs and Protection. Brealey's stage credits include Miss Julie, The Herd and The Trojan Women. On screen, she can be seen in Sherlock and the upcoming Victor Frankenstein.
Longhurst’s production played the Great White Way earlier this year, with its final bow on March 15. The show marked the Broadway debuts for Jake Gyllenhaal and Ruth Wilson; Wilson received a Tony nod for her performance.
