About the Show

Second Stage Theatre has added one additional performance to its sold-out run of Theresa Rebeck's critically acclaimed comedy The Scene on February 11 at 7:30pm. All tickets for this final performance are $125 and will benefit Second Stage Theatre's education program. The production, which was originally scheduled to close following the matinee performance on February 11, will not be able to extend further.

Directed by Rebecca Taichman, The Scene features Anna Camp, Patricia Heaton, Tony Shalhoub and Christopher Evan Welch. The play began previews on December 14 and officially opened on January 11.

The Scene is a new comedy about an out-of-work New York actor Shalhoub married to a news producer Heaton who has an affair with a fresh-faced Ohioan ingénue Camp and finds himself more morally and spiritually lost than he was before. Welch plays the character's best friend. This black comedy about the ever-elusive "place-to-be" takes on the empty narcissism of American pop culture with bitterly funny results.
