Distracted

Cynthia Nixon returns to the stage in this fast-paced and disarmingly funny look at parenting.

Cynthia Nixon to Star in Distracted for Roundabout

Tony Award winner and Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon will star in the Roundabout Theatre Company's upcoming off-Broadway production of Lisa Loomer's Distracted, which will begin performances in February 2009 at the Laura Pels Theatre. The production will directed by Mark Brokaw.

Distracted, described as a fast-paced and funny look at parenting in the age of the Internet and Ritalin, follows a contemporary American mother as she reaches out to teachers, psychotherapists and neighbors to figure out if Attention Deficit Disorder is the root of her son's problems. The play debuted at L.A.'s Mark Taper Forum in March 2007 in a production that starred Rita Wilson.

Nixon received a 2006 Tony Award for her performance in Rabbit Hole and has appeared on Broadway The Women, Indiscretions, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Angels In America, Hurlyburly, and The Real Thing. Her most recent New York theatrical credit was the off-Broadway revival of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. On the big screen, she co-stars in the highly anticipated Sex and the City movie, being released Memorial Day weekend.
