In the Heights Cast CD Debuts at #1 on Billboard Chart
The original double-disc cast recording of In the Heights debuted at number one on Billboard's Cast Album chart. The recording also made it into Billboard's Top 200 Album Chart at number 82.

Ghostlight Records released the recording on June 3 as a 23-track, two-disc package complete with a 68-page booklet containing cast photos and song lyrics. The recording was produced by Andres Levin and Ghostlight president Kurt Deutsch and spotlights the Tony-nominated score by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also stars in the Broadway production.

After a successful off-Broadway run in 2007, In the Heights opened on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on March 9. The musical centers on three summer days in the life of the close-knit community in Washington Heights. The Broadway production, directed by Thomas Kail, has been nominated for a total of 13 Tonys.
