Peter Maloney Replaces Brian Murray in To Be or Not to Be

Peter Maloney will replace Brian Murray in Manhattan Theatre Club's forthcoming Broadwway production of Nick Whitby's To Be or Not to Be. Murray's departure from the role of Dowasz was "amicable and by mutual agreement," according to a statement. To Be or Not to Be, which stars Craig Bierko and Jan Maxwell, will begin previews at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre formerly the Biltmore on September 11 and open on October 2, directed by Casey Nicholaw.

Maloney was most recently seen in the Atlantic Theatre Company's production of Almost An Evening. His Broadway credits include Dinner at Eight, Arcadia, Carousel, Six Degrees of Separation, Abe Lincoln in Illinois, Our Town, Judgment at Nuremberg, Stanley, Poor Murderer and Hughie. Other off-Broadway credits include Trumpery, The Voysey Inheritance, 10 x 20, The Room, The Cherry Orchard, Hobson's Choice, The Water Engine, Mr. Happiness, The Duck Variations, Down the Shore and The Dadshuttle. For four years he was a member of Joseph Chaikin's Open Theater, appearing here and in Europe in The Serpent, Terminal and Endgame in which he played Clov to Chaikin's Hamm.
