Steven Levenson's provocative new play about the fragility of language, the ecology of war and the meaning of neighborliness in an age of terror.

Full Cast Set for the Roundabout Underground's The Language of Trees

The full cast is set for the Roundabout Underground's upcoming The Language of Trees by Steven Levenson. The new work, directed by Alex Timbers, begins performances on October 4 at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre and opens October 29.

The show will feature Maggie Burke Brighton Beach Memoirs, Twilight of the Golds as Kay Danley, Natalie Gold Festen, The Public's The Fever Chart as Loretta Trumble-Pinkerstone, Tony Award nominee Michael Hayden Carousel, Judgment at Nuremberg as Denton Pinkerstone, Gio Perez Be Kind Rewind, Ohio's Amazons & Their Men as Eden Trumble-Pinkerston and Michael Warner Boy Steals Train, As the World Turns as Bill Clinton.

The Language of Trees is a play about the fragility of language, the ecology of war and the meaning of neighborliness in an age of terror. When an American translator is sent into a U.S. war zone in the Middle East, a friendly neighbor volunteers to help out his wife and young son back at home. As events abroad spiral out of control, the lives of all the characters are turned upside down.

This is the second production by Roundabout Underground, an initiative launched in 2007 to cultivate new artists in Roundabout's Black Box Theatre Space.

The Language of Trees will play a limited engagement through December 14.
