Grammy Nominees Include Five Musicals Currently on Broadway
The cast recordings of five musicals currently running on Broadway will go head to head for Best Musical Show Album honors at the 2009 Grammy Awards, to be presented on February 8 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The nominees in a total of 110 categories were announced on December 3.

Because the eligibility period for this year’s Grammys ran from October 1, 2007, to September 30, 2008, two songs from the movie musical Enchanted made the cut for Best Song Written for Motion Picture, Television or other Visual Media and the soundtrack of Sweeney Todd was nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Motion Picture, Television or other Visual Media.
