Claim to fame

She’s a Tony winner for Song and Dance and Annie Get Your Gun, but Bernadette Peters is perhaps best known for her work in the musicals of Stephen Sondheim. She created iconic roles in Into the Woods and Sunday in the Park with George (Tony nom), and starred in revivals of A Little Night Music and Follies. Other Tony-nominated roles include Mama Rose in Gypsy plus Mack & Mabel, The Goodbye Girl and On the Town.
