Derrick Baskin burst onto the Great White Way as “Comfort Counselor” Mitch Mahoney in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, for which he garnered a Drama Desk Award and a Broadway.com Audience Award for “Favorite Ensemble Cast.” He went on to play Jetsam as part of the original cast of Disney’s The Little Mermaid and Gator, a man who finds his voice, in Memphis.
