Steffanie Leigh made her Broadway debut as the title character in Disney’s Mary Poppins after playing the role in the show's North American tour. (She was a real-life nanny in New York before being cast in the musical.) Leigh's regional theater credits include Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, 42nd Street, Grease, Hamlet and Les Miserables.

When all is said and done, Garett can always count on Steffanie “to support me, listen to me, laugh with me, and to give me a ride home in her town car.”

Before Garett joined the cast of Newsies, Steffanie surprised him with a copy of the original movie script signed by the cast.

“There’s really no one to compare her to; she is her own celebrity,” Garett says loyally.

Steffanie thinks Garett looks like the classic cartoon Tintin. Here, we can almost see it.

Garett and Steffanie look simply darling with an assortment of pumpkins. (Their favorite snacks, however, are guac and hummus.)

“For such a graceful dancer, he trips all the time,” confides Leigh, as the two show off their moves outside the New York Public Library.

When they discovered their mutual love of Anne of Green Gables, Hawe says he knew Steffanie “was a ‘kindred spirit’ for sure!”

“My first impression was seeing him perform Neleus in Poppins, and I thought this guy is extremely talented,” Steffanie says of her bestie.

Steffanie returns the compliment: “Everyone around Garett falls in love with him, because is so completely open.”

The two friends take advantage of the beautiful fall day by strolling through a farmers' market.

Though they look like they could star in Singing in the Rain, Garett says that he and Steffanie should play “Seymour and Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors! Duh!”

Steffanie can always count on Garett to “be wearing something fashionable.” She’s looking pretty stylish herself.

After their ride, the duo challenges each other to a friendly game of chess.

Steffanie, who bonded with Garett on the Mary Poppins national tour, praises her pal as "accepting, fun and magnetic."

What are the chances that the horses will take them into a cartoon universe, like in the iconic scene from the movie Mary Poppins?

“When she walks into a room, your focus is drawn to her,” Garett says of Steffanie.
