Claim to fame

T.V. Carpio made her Broadway debut in Rent in 2006 and got her big break the following year in Julie Taymor's movie musical Across the Universe, transforming the Beatles' peppy hit "I Want to Hold Your Hand" into a stirring ballad. Taymor then cast Carpio in Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark as a comic book fan, but Carpio was promoted to the leading role of Arachne midway during previews.
