About This Gallery

Billed “A Concert Event,” Kristina made its English language debut on September 23 at Carnegie Hall. In the first of two nights in the celebrated music venue Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus’ saga of Swedish immigration to America drew an enthusiastic crowd eager to hear the latest work by the pair most famous for founding ABBA. (At this point, they’re also famous for the musicals Mamma Mia! and Chess.) Swedish singer Helen Sjoholm has played the title role for more than a million of her countrymen, and she bravely took on the role in English, receiving a huge ovation. Broadway.com captured some onstage and backstage snaps on Kristina’s big night.
