The Seagull Lands on Broadway for a Classy Opening Night

To quote Anton Chekhov, “In all the universe, nothing remains permanent and unchanged but the spirit.” Written just before the turn of the 20th century, those words never sounded more vital and timely than when they were delivered onstage at the Walter Kerr Theatre on October 2,the night of The Seagull’s first Broadway opening in 15 years. The award-winning West End transplant, directed by Ian Rickson, bowed with a crackerjack cast, including headliners Kristin Scott Thomas and Peter Sarsgaard. The glitterati was on hand for the rousing performance and the swank post-show party at Sardi’s. Click on to see The Seagull’s big night on Broadway!
