Jazz Poetry brings together an impressive array of composers who have set to music the poems of the Diaspora. Jazz Poetry is the beat that runs through the Harlem Renaissance, the Civil Rights movement, rap, slam, the whole shabam! The poets Langston Hughes, Dr. Maya Angelou, Gil Scott-Heron, Sonia Sanchez, Amiri Baraka, and Oscar Brown Jr. have given us their words. Jazz Poetry will give you their music!
