Story

What Is the Story of Don't Go Gentle?
Judge Lawrence Driver is battling cancer, and to ease his mind and keep himself busy, he uses his expertise in law to help those wrongfully accused, including single mom Tanya and her teenage son Rasheed. What begins as simple assistance soon escalates, and Judge Driver invites Tanya and Rasheed into his home and his family. His two adult children (each functionally addicts) have a lot to say about their father's new wards, and the formerly conservative Driver's two families soon come to blows, changing the lives of all five characters forever.

What Is Don't Go Gentle Like?
Don't Go Gentle is a powerful one-act drama by acclaimed playwright Stephen Belber, with a five-person cast led by Tony winner Michael Cristofer. The plot unfolds over the series of a few months and each scene takes place inside the home of Judge Lawrence Driver. Lucie Tiberghian's direction keeps the scenes moving quickly, and Belber's characters feel very realistic and are full of depth. This is a thought-provoking play about familial love, jealousy, addiction and redemption.

Is Don't Go Gentle Good for Kids?
This play is not appropriate for children. Parents should be wary of adult language and themes as well as alcohol and drug use.
