It was a happy afternoon at the Golden Theatre on December 15, as producers Jed Bernstein and Adam Zotovich took the stage after the matinee performance of Driving Miss Daisy for a special announcement: James Earl Jones, Vanessa Redgrave and Boyd Gaines have agreed to extend their engagement in Alfred Uhry’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play to April 9, 2011, rather than closing at the end of January. In the audience and joining the applause were famous theater fans Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, the effervescent co-hosts of Today’s fun-filled fourth hour. The ladies took the opportunity to congratulate Jones and Gaines in person and pose for photos backstage. Click on to share the joy.
