Now British playwright Lucy Prebble and director Rupert Goold have brought their cautionary tale to the New York stage with Enron, which opened at the Broadhurst Theatre on April 27. Based on the true story of the rise and fall of the Texas energy company—which has become synonymous with financial scandal—the show is anything but a dry retelling of recent events. Starring Tony winner Norbert Leo Butz, Marin Mazzie, Gregory Itzin and Stephen Kunken, the show is a spectacle that offers striking visuals and plenty of zing to go with its facts and figures.
