New musical Fela! has been wowing audiences (and big-name backers like Jay-Z, if you want to name drop) at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre for months now, but the cast upped the ante on January 25, dedicating their performance to the Actors Fund. Stars Sahr Ngaujah and Lillias White and the cast helped raise donations for the organization, a human services group which supports all professionals working in the performing arts, offering help to performers and creative talents in crisis or transition. All of the Fund's many programs reaped the benefits of Fela! moving (literally...it's a get-up-and-dance kind of show) performance. Take a look to get inspired by the good work of Fela!
