Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham has returned to the New York stage to star in Bertolt Brecht’s Galileo at Classic Stage Company. Abraham plays the larger-than-life title character, a 17th century scientist, astronomer and philosopher who challenged the conventional wisdom of the universe, and came up against the Catholic Church and the Inquisition as a result. An ensemble cast of actors—Jon DeVries, Robert Dorfman, Aaron Himelstein, Andy Phelan, Amanda Quaid, Steve Rattazzi, Steven Skybell and Nick Westrate—joins him to tell this story of a man grappling with his family and humanity as much as his social and ethical responsibility.
