The off-Broadway revival of Paula Vogel’s Pulitzer Prize-winning How I Learned to Drive has extended its run at Second Stage Theatre. The Kate Whoriskey-helmed production, starring Tony winner Norbert Leo Butz and Twilight’s Elizabeth Reaser, opened on February 13 and was scheduled to run through March 11. The production will now run through March 18.
How I Learned to Drive explores the complex relationship between Li’l Bit (Reaser) and her Uncle Peck (Butz), as a series of driving lessons progresses from innocence to something much darker. The play premiered at the Vineyard Theatre in 1997 in an acclaimed production that starred David Morse and Mary-Louise Parker.
Joining Butz and Reaser on stage are Kevin Cahoon, Jennifer Regan and Marnie Schulenburg.
