About The Landing

What Is the Story of The Landing?
Composer John Kander and lyricist/librettist Greg Pierce's chamber musical features three thematically linked vignettes. In “Andra,” a companion-less boy bonds with a carpenter renovating his family's kitchen. In “The Brick,” a lonely housewife falls in love with a charming fellow cloaked in 1920s gangster regalia. And in “The Landing,” a gay male couple adopts a seemingly perfect son. Each story tackles some of life’s biggest issues, like hope, love, loss, betrayal, fantasy and death, and all include interesting twists.
