Houdyshell and Kane Join March Cast of Love, Loss and What I Wore; O'Donnell Withdraws

Jayne Houdyshell

Rosie O'Donnell has withdrawn from the March cast of the hit off-Broadway show.

Jayne Houdyshell and Carol Kane will join the March cast of Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron’s hit show Love, Loss and What I Wore. They join previously announced stars Didi Conn, Fran Drescher and Natasha Lyonne. Rosie O’Donnell, who performed as part of the opening cast and was to return to the show in March, had to withdraw due to scheduling conflicts and family obligations. The new cast begins performances on March 3 at the West Side Theatre.

Directed by Karen Carpenter, this collection of stories is based on the bestselling book by Ilene Beckerman, as well as on the recollections of the Ephrons’ friends. Like the book, Love, Loss and What I Wore uses clothing and accessories and the memories they trigger to tell funny and often poignant stories. The show, which opened to strong reviews on October 1, 2009, has been extended through May 30, 2010.

The current cast (Janeane Garofalo, Joanna Gleason, Carol Kane, June Diane Raphael and Caroline Rhea) will continue to perform through February 28.
