It’s no surprise that Montego Glover was invited to perform at the annual gala of Ford’s Theatre, taped on June 6 at the historic D.C. playhouse and telecast by ABC on July 2 as America Celebrates July 4th at Ford’s Theatre. After all, First Lady Michelle Obama and her daughters had already enjoyed Glover’s performance as Felicia Farrell in Memphis during a spring trip to NYC. Well, Montego did Broadway proud at the gala in a roof-raising performance of “Colored Woman.” Glamorously dressed in a strapless violet gown, the Tony nominee gave it her all and was rewarded with cheers from President and Mrs. Obama in the front row. Take a look at Montego’s performance, and get goosebumps!
