Celebs Get Bowled Over at Second Stage's Annual All-Star Bowling Classic

For over 20 years, Second Stage Theatre's had the solution to the boring benefit dilemma. Their strategy? Knocking back brews and bowling pins with a gaggle of celebrity guests (instead of rubbing elbows in stuffy suits) at the Second Stage All-Star Bowling Classic. On February 8, the company celebrated its 23rd annual gathering, taking over hip NYC pin place Lucky Strike for a rollicking good time. Over the course of the evening, celebrity captains including Mad Men star John Slattery, Academy Award nominee Chloe Sevigny and Second Stage veterans like Tony Shalhoub, Ari Graynor, Dylan Baker and James McDaniel headed up teams of supporters in the tournament. While it was current A View from the Bridge star Jessica Hecht whose team claimed victory, the big winner for the night was Second Stage (opening its first show of 2010, new comedy Mr. and Mrs. Fitch, on February 22), which raised funds to keep the long-running theater going strong.
