On March 17, 2009, zany jukebox musical Rock of Ages made the official leap to Broadway, riding a wave of hair band hits from its off-Broadway debut to its current home at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Almost exactly one year later, on March 18, 2010, the show’s headliner Constantine Maroulis, made the leap from humble leading man to Sardi’s star, when he joined the ranks of Broadway heavweights rocking the portrait-covered walls at the landmark restaurant. The rocker and American Idol alum had a devoted entourage in tow for his big day, including the Rock of Ages gang, rock star Steve Van Zandt and his adorable mom and sister.
