Talk about a top-drawer ensemble: Manhattan Theatre Club has tapped the cream of the theatrical crop to star in its Broadway revival of George S. Kaufman and Edna Ferber’s The Royal Family. Beloved by performers, the play tells the madcap story of an acting dynasty very much like the Barrymores. (Back in the day, an irate Ethel Barrymore considered suing the authors over the script!) On August 25, eight of the revival’s stars took a break from rehearsals to pose for pictures and meet the press at MTC’s rehearsal studios. Here’s a glimpse at one of the fall season’s hot tickets.
