Composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim has dreamed up some of the most beloved musical tales in modern theater history (including Company, Passion, Into the Woods, Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park With George and A Little Night Music , just to name a few). His latest Broadway outing, Sondheim on Sondheim , however, tells a very different story—his own. Sondheim on Sondheim uses intimate new interviews with the subject himself to piece together the story of Sondheim’s creative, professional and personal life. The eight-person ensemble cast welcomes cabaret legend Barbara Cook back to the Broadway stage after decades and showcases Tony Award nominated favorites like Vanessa Williams and Tom Wopat as well. We sent Word of Mouth panelists Kathleen, Tom and Deanna to Studio 54 to get their reviews of this new revue. Watch the video to see if Sondheim on Sondheim was music to their ears.
