South Pacific Star Paulo Szot on Dream Roles, Shower Singing & Being a Doggie Daddy

Paulo Szot

Since he burst onto the Broadway scene as super-romantic plantation owner Emile de Becque in Lincoln Center Theater's revival of South Pacific , Paulo Szot has managed to juggle a Tony Award-winning musical theater performance and occasional returns to his original art form, opera. (His Metropolitan Opera debut is coming up in March 2010 in Shostakovich's The Nose .) The Brazilian-born star recently took questions from Broadway.com readers on subjects both serious (his dream roles) and cheeky (his view of singing in the shower; the correct pronunciation of his name; what's new with his beloved dogs; and his opinion of the world's most romantic city). Watch, and be charmed anew by dreamy Paulo Szot!
