American Theatre Wing's Annual Spring Benefit Toasts Broderick & Lane

On April 10, the Tony-winning actors Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane were mutually honored for their contributions to the theater by the American Theatre Wing at their annual spring gala at Cipriani's on 42nd Street. Monies from the event went to support the not-for-profit's mission as a grant-giving and education resource to dozens of New York-based arts organizations, non-profit theaters and students. Among the many celebrities on hand to celebrate the current Odd Couple headliners were Martin Short, Andrea Martin and Christine Ebersole. Neil Simon and Terrence McNally gave speeches and there was a rare musical performance by Broderick's wife, Sarah Jessica Parker, where she sang "I Believe in You" from How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, in which the couple had appeared together a decade ago on Broadway.
