About This Gallery

The cast and creative team behind the Vineyard’s upcoming show, This Beautiful City, hosted a meet-and-greet with the press on January 6 at the Atlantic Theatre Company’s rehearsal space. Developed by the Civilians theater company and billed as “a play with music,” the production explores the growth of the evangelical Christian movement in Colorado Springs, and is drawn from interviews conducted by the cast and crew with the area’s leading church figures, civic organizers and progressive activists over a ten-week period. Directed by Steven Cosson, who co-wrote the book with Jim Lewis, the piece features music and lyrics by Michael Friedman and begins previews February 3, with an opening set for February 22.
