During each performance of The Lion King, Gareth Saxe takes the stage as the insidious villain Scar to warn audiences “Be Prepared.” It takes plenty of preparation on Saxe’s part to get into lion mode each night. Broadway.com snuck backstage at the Minskoff Theatre to follow Saxe during his pre-show transformation from nice guy to ferocious animal.
