There was magic in the air on January 3, when the newly imagined revival of Pippin officially opened at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Featuring circus-inspired direction by Diane Paulus, Pippin stars Patina Miller as the Leading Player, who tells the story of a man (Matthew James Thomas) on a journey to discover an exciting new life. After the astounding acrobatic performance, Paulus, Miller and Thomas joined composer Stephen Schwartz and co-stars Andrea Martin, Terrence Mann, Charlotte d’Amboise, Rachel Bay Jones and more for a swanky soiree.
