By the time Richard Rodgers composed the musical Cinderella for television in 1957, his daughter Mary had already launched her own career as a songwriter—and two years later, she debuted her fairy tale-inspired tuner Once Upon a Mattress on Broadway. On June 5, Mary Rodgers Guettel headed to the Broadway Theatre to see the gorgeously reimagined version of her father’s magical musical, then went backstage to say hello to the delighted stars.
