Born in London, England, Bertie Carvel is an Olivier Award-winning actor who has appeared in West End productions of Damned By Despair, Parade and Matilda the Musical. His film credits include playing Lord Carmarthen in John Adams and Bamatabois in Les Misérables. He reprised the role of Miss Trunchbull in Matilda on Broadway in spring 2013.
